SUBJECT: PROCESS FOR DRAFTING NGO STATEMENTS FOR COMMENT AND MEETING REPORT FROM JUNE STANDING COMMITTEE

Dear Colleagues,

During the June Standing Committee, a meeting was held among NGOs to discuss the statement drafting process. Please find attached a report of that meeting and, annexed to that report, the draft Process for drafting NGO Statements that was agreed at that meeting.

We would appreciate your comments on the draft process by 7 September 2007, so that we can finalise the discussion about the NGO statement drafting process before Pre-EXCOM (Annual NGO-UNHCR Consultations) at the end of September.

We will, however, use this process for the upcoming Standing and Executive Committee meetings and the drafting of NGO statements for those meetings (messages on both will be forthcoming).
