ICVA TREASURER

Authority and Responsibility
On behalf of the General Assembly, the Executive Committee (EXCOM) oversees the formulation and implementation of strategies, policy decisions, and activities for the organisation.
The Treasurer carries responsibility for maintaining the integrity of the financial management of ICVA, in consultation with the Chair and EXCOM.
The Treasurer is the focal point for discharging the EXCOM's responsibility to supervise the financial situation of the organisation.
Duty travel will normally only be undertaken on behalf of the Treasurer’s own agency. While promoting ICVA membership should be standard practice, representation for ICVA will only be undertaken in coordination with the ICVA Secretariat.
Tasks: S/he
- monitors and acts on issues, together with the EXCOM, that may affect the financial integrity of ICVA, in consultation with the Chair and Coordinator;
- reports, on behalf of the EXCOM, to the General Assembly on financial matters;
- reports to the EXCOM on financial matters;
- calls meetings of, and chairs, the finance and administration committee, which is a sub-committee of the EXCOM;
- liaises, when relevant, with the auditor;
- carries signing authority for financial and legal purposes, on behalf of the EXCOM;
- acts as the focal point for the Coordinator and Finance Officer with regards to the organisation's finances and administrative matters; and
- fulfils the functions of the EXCOM, together with the other EXCOM members, as delineated in Article XVI of the ICVA Statutes.
Term:
The Treasurer is elected by the EXCOM and serves for a three-year term.
Requirements:
- demonstrated commitment to the work of the organisation;
- experience and knowledge of financial management issues;
- availability for GA and EXCOM meetings and other meetings requiring the presence of the Treasurer;
- availability for the Coordinator and Finance Officer at their request; and
- refrain from actions that may lead to any conflict of interest.
Review:
Periodically (e.g. once every three years), the EXCOM reviews the Treasurer's role description, in consultation with the Secretariat.
