Humanitarian "Clusters"

During the Inter-Agency Standing Committe Working Group meeting of July 2005, there was a decision that the various (primarily UN) agencies would be assigned to lead nine "clusters" that are meant to fill gaps in the humanitarian response, particularly in IDP situations. Those agencies would be held accountable for the response in that "cluster" and would be the "provider of last resort." This decision was endorsed by the IASC Principals in September 2005. From this page, you can link to more information on each of the nine clusters, as well as on General Cluster information (including inter-cluster meetings) and more general information on the various Humanitarian Reforms.

If you are interested in participating in any of the global clusters, please contact the focal points directly. A list of focal points can be found here.
