The CCA is a UN country team-based process for reviewing and analysing the national development situation and identifying key issues as a basis for advocacy, policy dialogue and preparation for the UN Development Assistance Framework. The process is participatory and ensures learning from joint experience, the generation of new ideas. In recent years, human rights have been given a prominent role in CCAs. The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights has played a key role in integrating human rights into the CCAs.
See Integrating Human Rights with Sustainable Human Development for a detailed paper on the topic of human rights and development.
